Thought for Tuesday

Don't you worry about that Manchester business, Americans. ISIS claimed credit, so it was a muslim thing. Therefore, it was a peaceful bombing. See how peaceful those 22 dead persons are now?

Salman Abedi was no slouch he went to Salford university to take business studies.
Which shows we cannot rely on intelligence to prevent radicalization and not even living in a free country with all its advantages does the trick Interestingly his family had already fled from the tyrant Gaddafi.

Which proves how dangerous islam is. (Christianity has been just as bad at times.)

Most jihadist terrorists are educated middle class muslims. By the way Gaddafi turned Libya into the continent’s most economically and socially advanced country. The civilised liberal Hillary Clinton turned it into a horror, dominated by Islamic warlords and terrorists.

How can they reason as they do? I was led to believe education was the answer to crooked thinking. Gaddafi was a tough taskmaster who always got his own way, nonetheless we would have done better to leave him to it.

Religious brainwashing is more powerful that education, or anything else. That’s why it is so dangerous.

You are right but we need to combat the brainwashing technique ; that is even more important than killing jihadists. Immunisation is better than fighting the disease.

we need to combat the brainwashing technique
And we do that by dealing decisively with the brainwashers. These barbarians still have a stone-age mentality. We can no more reason with them than we can explain algebra to a 3-year-old.

The BBC have used the Islamic terrorist attack into Manchester to push the line that Islam is the religion of peace.

      How do they manage that?

      May 24, 2017
      1. stevehayes13

They wheel on a muslim who says: “This is terrible. It has nothing to do with Islam. Islam is the religion of peace” and the BBC interviewer nods approval.

Yep. Like I said, those 22 corpses are at peace. Thank you, peaceful muslims.

Well Steve there are about three million Muslims living in America so there is no chance of peace of your opinion is correct. You forget the nominal Muslim who just gets on with life and is glad to live in a free country. The best type of religion in modern society is that which does not affect lifestyle.
The news media always argue by specific cases you can wheel on who you fancy. Remember the media is supplying what the public respond to , they are not keen on facts or figures unless they are attractive feminine ones.
I suspect the mood in ISIS is very similar to that among drunken friends who dare not say they are full up and miss a round.

You don’t have to be a muslim scholar to see that those folks, however many there may be, are not the true muslims. The jihadists are the true muslims, and the nominal muslims may very well at some point be called to account. Either they fully embrace and support the jihadists, or they are worse than mere infadels who have never accepted islam. Also, how many of those nominal muslims are really jihadists biding their time until they reveal their true radicalism? We have no way of knowing until it’s too late.

That little word true ah how often have I heard it true Christian a claim made by them all. Those nominal Muslims would be outraged to here you say that. Life is not black and white even for those who claim it is , everyone compromises we have no choice. The greatest cause for compromise is life style.
As for millions becoming jihadists just think is a costly business , more costly than turning to fundamental Christianity.
The secret weapon of the west is freedom ,it brought down the Berlin wall and it will defeat the radicalised religious fanatic.

Life is not black and white
22 dead, many others wounded by a single fanatical muslim. That’s pretty goddam black & white.

Send ALL Muslims back! After all anyone who is STILL wandering around in the heat and hot sand after all these 1000’s of years stepping in Camel shit can’t be TOO bright!

Read Steve’s message most jihadists are middle class well educated, this is not an argument about intelligence.

The results of any type of radicalization are death and destruction which makes for black and white solutions. These brainwashers were normal in their past this is not a stone-
aged mentality you are slipping back into the intelligence excuse. Typical statements :
Only a moron would believe the bible.
Only a moron would follow Sharia law.
Only a moron would wear a headscarf .
I could go on and I would end up with:
Only a moron would not think like me!

I take your point, magnocrat, and steve’s, but you must admit there is something very primitive and unintelligent about islam and sharia law. There is nothing intelligent about embracing martyrdom by strapping on a suicide vest and taking out dozens of people with you. Or about how muslim men treat women, and young girls. There was nothing particularly intelligent about the upstart muhammad. He was merely a thug, thief, and murderer who found success by recruiting the most ignorant band of myrmidons. Having attended university is no assurance of intelligence. There are lots of Harvard MBAs walking around who are well-educated clowns. I have to admit that I can’t help thinking that an intelligent person would reject islam. Or to put it another way, that muslims can’t be that intelligent. If they were intelligent, they would have to reject islam, at least once they get to know a bit about it.

    2. den_of_iniquity2

It’s pretty much the same with christians, btw. How can an intelligent person embrace such an absurd, corrupt religion? How can a dedicated christian be considered intelligent?

What this means is that IQ rating is no proof against stupidity but worse no bar to extremism. We should all know this from history a fine example being Hitler. So another cause must be sought, and in a nutshell brainwashing is the main cause. In a strongly religious environment many may succumb. Already in America Fundamentalists are attempting to brainwash more followers.
For many centuries humankind has laboured under this yoke but the enlightenment did dawn. We cannot rely on universities or dedicated scientists or artists, although individuals speak out , so the battle must be fought on the internet.

You know all about that Den nearly all fundamentalist groups are constantly preaching , door knocking , leaflet handouts.
Perhaps the most notorious are the Jehovah’s Witnesses. In my quiet neck of the woods I get a tap on the door about three times a year.

    1. den_of_iniquity2

Of course. I wasn’t sure that’s what you were referring to. Part of the indoctrination is recruiting others. Sometimes it is encouraged, sometimes required. I’ve been there, done that. I didn’t like it. At all. I wanted answers before I went off trying to explain to others what I wasn’t clear about myself. I never stopped asking questions. Christians don’t like that. At all.

Well I have an excellent technique I simply chat about my life or theirs or any topic that has nothing to do with religion. Ask them about their work or hobbies the trick is to make them realise they are no different from you, their religion does not separate them from the rest of humanity.
